LUIS ALCARAZ

Luis Alcaraz co-leads the Trademark and Copyright practices at AXKATI. He is mainly involved in helping clients identify, create and manage solid IP rights portfolios. Throughout the years, Luis has developed an expertise in the prosecution, advisory and litigation practices of intellectual property law for Mexican and international companies.

 

Luis is also well-versed in the negotiation and drafting of IP-related agreements such as licenses, assignments or franchises. 

 

Luis previously worked at different multinational Mexican companies in the consumer goods and entertainmnent industries and in renowned Mexican law firms.

Rosa María leads the Privacy and Data Protection practice at AXKATI. She has specialized in advising clients on privacy and data protection issues, especially designing and implementing comprehensive privacy programs for companies of all sizes.

 

Rosa María is currently the Managing Director for Latin America of IAPP. She has participated as speaker in several conferences and seminars, including the Privacy Summit and Privacy Academy of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and the Forum on International Privacy Law.

 

Who’s Who Legal Mexico 2015 refers to Rosa María as “[a] fantastic Data Protection and Privacy lawyer. Her peers regard her as one of the most savvy and knowledgeable practitioners in the market”. 

 

Rosa María formerly worked with different firms in their Intellectual Property practices. She created and successfully led one of Mexico’s major law firms the Data Protection and Privacy area.

Ingridd is in charge of the corporate law practice at AXKATI. Her practice focuses on corporate, real estate, foreign investment, health and administrative law and regulations.

 

Ingridd has extensive experience in the development of due diligence procedures in corporate, administrative and health matters.

 

She also handles all corporate legal matters relating to the day-to-day activity of a company, such as the drafting and negotiation of contracts, conducting shareholder meetings and corporate book entries, or filling and follow-up of administrative litigation, procurement and amparo appeals.

 

Additionally, Ingridd frequently supports clients in the process of obtaining health registrations, permits, operation licenses and notices before the Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks ("Cofepris") and other health authorities.

Martín leads the Patent law practice at AXKATI. He has advised national and international clients on all kinds patent issues, ranging from designing and implementing integral patent strategies, to performing patentability and freedom to use patent searches, filing and prosecuting national and international patent applications, patent litigation, coordinating international patent portfolios, drafting legal documents, obtaining economic funds for technology development, or performing due diligences.

 

Martín has also participated as speaker in several specialized conferences and seminars. 

 

Martín learned the ropes working for more than 21 years in one of the most renowned law firms in Mexico. He then went on to one of the major full practice firms worldwide, where he led the patent practice in Mexico and was an active member of the regional Latin-American group.

Manuel Augusto co-leads the Litigation practice at AXKATI as a result of his large experience in Intellectual Property and Administrative Law. His practice is mainly focused on developing and implementing complex litigation strategies related to trademarks, patents, counterfeit, unfair competition and governmental managing decisions. 

 

Manuel Augusto appears before the Mexican Patent and Trademark Office, Mexican Copyrights Office, other administrative authorities, as well as courts. He represents and advises clients from a wide array of industries –from pharmaceuticals and electronics to alcohol, beverages and fashion.

 

He also provides strategic legal advice on Intellectual Property and business development. Manuel Augusto has also experience in representing clients in negotiations on dispute settlement agreements, Intellectual Property assets assignments and technology transfer. 

 

Manuel Augusto has been a professor of administrative law at Universidad La Salle in Mexico City.

Alfredo co-leads the Litigation practice at Axkati. He counsels and represents national and foreign clients on the issues of Mexican contract law applied to Intellectual Property, and most prominently the prosecution and litigation before administrative and judicial authorities regarding the defense of patent and trademark rights, copyrights, health registries, and other intellectual property rights. Alfredo has excelled in the litigation of well-known trademarks and pharmaceutical and mechanical patents. Throughout the years, his practice has also included anti-counterfeiting proceedings. 

 

Among the clients that have confided in his expertise, Alfredo counts renowned major companies in the fields of entertainment, pharma, and consumer products.

  

Alfredo has also lectured Intellectual Property at Universidad Panamericana’s School of Law.

Eduardo co-leads the Trademark and Copyright areas at AXKATI. He specializes in advising clients in all matters relating to trademarks, slogans, trade names and domain names, particularly in creating and coordinating international intellectual property rights portfolios. In this respect, Eduardo stands out for his skills in planning optimal protection strategies for intellectual and industrial property rights.
